Before you travel
What they'll ask for at the border, in short.
For Venezuelan citizens, in the destinations we quote most. We confirm it with you before issuing: requirements change.
| Destination | Visa | Passport | Insurance | Note | Get a quote |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Colombia | No | Valid, or expired up to 10 years | Recommended | Free Check-Mig 72 h before and an onward ticket. The Venezuelan ID card is not accepted by air. | |
| Spain & Schengen | No, up to 90 days in 180 | 3 months after departure, issued within the last 10 years | Recommended | Funds of €121.10 per day (min. €1,089.90), return ticket and lodging. ETIAS (€20) pending, no date yet. | |
| United States | B1/B2 · issuance and entry suspended since January 2026 | Valid for the length of stay | Recommended | Only travellers who already held a valid visa before 1 January 2026 may enter. Processed in Bogotá; bond of up to US$15,000. | |
| Panama | Stamped visa · waived with a multiple-entry visa from the US, Canada, EU or UK | 3 months | Recommended | Funds of at least US$500 and an onward ticket. The waiving visa must have been used and be valid for 6 months. | |
| Curaçao & Aruba | Caribbean visa (VFS Global, Caracas) · waived with a multiple-entry US, Canada or Schengen visa | 3 months after departure, issued within the last 10 years | Mandatory for the visa (US$15,000) | Digital entry card: DI Card (Curaçao) or ED Card + US$20 (Aruba). Yellow-fever vaccine. Flights resuming in phases. | |
| Dominican Republic | Tourist visa · waived with a valid US, Schengen, Canada or UK visa | 6 months | Recommended | Free mandatory e-Ticket and yellow-fever vaccination card when arriving from Venezuela. | |
| Margarita & Los Roques | No | ID card | Optional | Flight and lodging in one package. |
General rule of thumb: travel with a passport valid for at least 6 months past both your departure and return dates, even if the destination asks for less. It's the number one reason travellers get turned away at the gate.

Our story
From Paseo de La Feria to the world, since 1978.
Some agencies were born on the internet. Oturmérida was born in a shop in downtown Mérida, when a ticket was written by hand and delivered in person. 48 years later we are still the same house: the one that knows the routes, the airlines and the paperwork because it has lived through all of them.
Today we return with what always worked, the attention of a person who stands behind what they sell, and with what was missing: online quotes, WhatsApp and confirmation by email. Coming back isn't starting from scratch; it's being available again.
Origin
1978. Oturmérida is born
A family from Mérida, together with a group of partners, opens Organización Turística Mérida C.A. at Paseo de La Feria, in the heart of the city, to sell tickets and organize trips back when it was still a trade of counters, telephones and trust. Over the years the agency passed fully to the family, which runs it today.
Accreditation
IATA agency
The agency earns accreditation from the International Air Transport Association: it issues tickets directly with the airlines through the global reservation systems, with the same backing as the world's large agencies.
Trade association
Part of Mérida's tourism
A member of AVAVIT, the Venezuelan association of travel agencies, and of the Mérida State Chamber of Tourism. Decades of clients who came back with their children, and later with their grandchildren.
Today
2026. A new chapter
Oturmérida is back where its clients are: on the phone. Online quotes, direct service on WhatsApp and confirmation by email, with the same license, the same accreditation and the same way of treating people.
How it works
Three steps and you're travelling
Tell us about your trip
Fill in the request with destination, dates and travellers. It takes a minute and you don't need an account.
An advisor gets back to you
They write to you on WhatsApp or email with clear options and prices. No bots.
You confirm, we issue
We arrange payment with you and issue with IATA backing.
Why an agency
The internet sells tickets. We stand behind them.
When you book with us you talk to an advisor with a first and last name, the same person from start to finish, with no call centers or automated chats. Your ticket is issued directly with the airline and backed by an accredited agency, not an anonymous middleman. If plans change, we handle reissues, refunds and date changes for you, no queues. And if something goes wrong along the way, a cancelled flight, a missed connection, a missing document, you have someone to call.

Frequently asked questions
What people ask us before travelling
Another question? Write to us on WhatsApp: it's faster than searching.
What do I need to request a quote?
Destination, approximate dates and how many people are travelling. With that we put options together. If your dates aren't fixed yet, tell us and we'll guide you on seasons and prices.
Do you serve people outside Mérida?
Yes. We quote and issue remotely for all of Venezuela and for Venezuelans abroad who travel or bring family over. Everything is handled on WhatsApp and email.
How do I pay?
We arrange it with you on WhatsApp depending on the service and destination; we tell you the available options before issuing. You never pay without having seen and approved the quote.
What does being an IATA agency mean?
That we are accredited by the International Air Transport Association to issue tickets directly with the airlines. It's the same guarantee the world's large agencies have, and it protects your purchase.
Can you help me with my visa?
We inform you about the requirements and documents each destination asks for and explain the process. You file the application yourself with the consulate: we do not process visa applications. Once you have your visa, we put the trip together.
How fast do you reply?
An advisor reviews every request during office hours and writes to you on WhatsApp with concrete options. If it's urgent, message us directly and say so.
